Set three years post-Chernarus conflict, a significant crisis emerges in the Green Sea Region. A coalition spearheaded by the US Army enters Takistan to rapidly re-establish peace and prevent additional civilian casualties. Players assume multiple roles within the US military, ranging from standard infantry and special operatives to pilots and tank crews, in this latest installment from Bohemia Interactive. Constructed upon a decade of engine evolution, this standalone title offers the globe's most realistic combat setting, simulating real-world ballistics, thermal imaging, material penetration, and dynamic environmental effects like wind and weather. New content includes a story campaign for single and multiplayer, tutorials, and large Central Asian maps featuring urban, desert, and mountainous terrain. Unique gameplay elements involve detachable backpacks, advanced weapon optics, UAV simulation, and freedom of choice. The addition features over 300 new units, vehicles, and weapons across various factions, alongside a comprehensive mission editor and SDK for game modification. Multiplayer supports up to 50 players, with BattlEye anti-cheat and dedicated server support for Windows and Linux.
