About This Game
Above all, this game functions as a coding experiment to create a software rendering engine. This engine renders imagery using the CPU rather than the graphics card, mimicking the technology of 90s games. The challenge was to determine if such an engine could be coded from scratch in the modern era and achieve 60 FPS on current PCs. After finishing the engine, I decided to build a game around it, specifically an FPS inspired by early 90s classics. Having always admired those titles, I aimed to recreate their style with a simplistic story that prioritizes run-and-gun action. Visually, the game is based on imagery from my dreams, with level design focused on conveying that specific mood and atmosphere. I would greatly appreciate any feedback on this modest project.
