About This Game
Senseï leads as the absolute boss, with disciples trained in extortion, infiltration, and combat. Pony and Biki, his finest students, have mastered the secret chakra technique and control the city. Feared and respected, these Ninjas are nonetheless pursued by the authorities. Crouching Pony Hidden Dragon (CPHD) is an Action/RPG developed for the SNK Neo Geo, combining "Run’N Gun" action from games like Shock Troopers with RPG mechanics inspired by Zelda or Secret of Mana. Beneath the arcade style is a persistent world with deep rules. Exploration is key to finding coins, health items, potions, and techniques. Hidden chests contain money for buying upgrades, while defeating enemies grants experience to strengthen the characters. Players must carefully manage limited health and funds to survive. A local co-op mode allows a second player to join anytime, adding strategy but keeping resource amounts fixed, creating a dilemma over sharing or hoarding. Originally developed for the Neo Geo as a tribute to its legacy, the game has received a full native PC port to allow more players to enjoy the experience without emulation.
