About This Game
Mecha Hack'n'Slash "Damascus Gear: Operation Osaka HD Edition" is now available on Steam featuring full HD graphics. Control your humanoid mecha "GEAR" with your trusted operator by your side. Will you manage to settle your debts before they're due? Beyond improved visual quality, dungeon effects have been enhanced. The PC version includes all DLCs from the PlayStation®Vita release, with new weapon parts and high-difficulty missions awaiting you. The GEAR System, revealed by the Atsuga Corporation in the mid-21st century, revolutionized technology by enabling piloted humanoid robots called GEARs. When World War Four broke out in 2050 and control over the GEAR System was lost, the world was forever changed. The berserk GEARs became known as RAGE, initiating a global massacre of humanity. Though pushed to near extinction, some survivors escaped underground and analyzed the GEAR System to plan a counterattack. The human-RAGE war was brutal, but thanks to the anti-RAGE organization Freyja and a particular GEAR mercenary, humanity gradually reclaimed key surface locations. By 2112, fifty years after the war began, humanity had recovered Japan from RAGE. Three decades later, in the Cosmopolis built on Osaka, a pilot with an inherited GEAR and massive debt begins his journey with his Operator to become an Arena Ranker. This won't be a historical tale, but simply a battle for their freedom. The objective of "Damascus Gear Operation Osaka" is to repay the protagonist's significant debt before its due date. In the Cosmopolis, GEAR pilots constantly battle in the Arena for large sums of Eyn (the world's currency). The hero will participate as a Ranker, using prize money to clear his debt. Once daily, the hero can choose between going on a mission or entering the Arena. During missions, you explore dungeons to collect new parts, while Arena battles provide prize money and rank advancement. Use missions to enhance your GEAR and earn prize money in the Arena before the due date. Failure to meet the deadline results in... In the Arena, you fight matched battles against other Rankers. Victory awards Eyn and Arena Points, with the latter increasing your rank. These are typically 1-on-1 fights, though some special battles involve multiple opponents. On missions, you explore the ever-changing Cosmopolis dungeon to collect parts and items. Higher difficulty dungeons unlock by winning Arena battles and increasing your rank. Each mission difficulty assigns three random sub-missions, with bonus rewards for completing them before leaving. In outfitting, you can customize your GEAR with eight components: head, body, arms, legs, shoulders, right weapon, left weapon, and back weapon. These sections can be equipped with parts featuring various traits. You can also modify the color of each section. As the story progresses, Electro-Enhancement procedures become available to enhance the player directly. The Data section contains the Damascus Gear timeline, term glossary, parts and trait explanations, and additional information.
