The Dante of DmC is a rebellious youth who holds no respect for authority or society. He knows he is not human, yet he is distinct from the demons that have haunted his existence. Trapped between two realms, he considers himself an outcast.
Guided by his twin brother Vergil, the leader of the anti-government faction “The Order”, Dante is uncovering and accepting his identity as the offspring of a demon and an angel. This duality directly affects gameplay, allowing Dante to wield angel and demon powers at will, morphing his Rebellion sword on the fly to drastically change combat and movement.
