Dungeon Siege II, the follow-up to Gas Powered Games' hit RPG, requires you to once again take up arms and magic to protect the world from a swelling horror that has been brewing for years. A millennium ago, during the last battle of a hundred-year rebellion, the crusaders of Azunai fought Zaramoth's legions. As the tyrant god Zaramoth delivered the final blow that pierced Azunai's shield, the ground quaked. Magic was unleashed, and a massive cataclysm consumed both armies, scorching the Plain of Tears for miles. Only a barren wasteland remained to witness the end of the First Age of Man. Since then, magic has flowed freely to every corner of the world for anyone able to command it. However, the magical tide is receding, answering the call of an ancient legacy. A new heir rises from the Plain of Tears, gaining power daily. He destroys those who oppose him and consumes those who surrender. Without resistance, his ascension will be secured, and an ancient epoch will return. What destiny awaits the Second Age of Man? Judgment day is near.
