About This Game
"THE F-14 TOMCAT SIMULATION" responds to the order "Launch the Ready-Five." The catapult officer signals for full afterburner, and you feel 50,000 pounds of thrust power up. Seconds later, your Tomcat is airborne at 150 knots. After climbing to meet your wingman, you proceed to the engagement area. Fleet Defender pioneers the authentic recreation of carrier aviation, delivering the thrill of catapult launches, intense dogfights, and the precision required to land on a moving deck. Immerse yourself in the high-pressure life of Navy aces. Begin your pilot career just like real F-14 crews, training at Oceania Naval Air Station in Virginia. From there, deploy to the freezing Arctic near Norway's North Cape or the southern Mediterranean off the Libyan coast. You will need expert piloting abilities to defeat hostile planes using modern combat tactics. The simulation includes precise cockpit layouts, enemy AI modeled after Soviet and third-world military strategies, expanded wingman command options for tactical control, terrain graphics built on U.S. Geological Survey digitized data, mission-critical strike packages with various naval aircraft, and encounters with new Soviet threats such as the Su-27, MiG-31, Bear, Badger, and Backfire bombers.
