About This Game

Freaking Meatbags transports you to a futuristic setting where robots are employed, cephalopods exist beyond the third dimension, and humans mostly mumble to themselves. Playing as a basic cleaning droid, your mission is to harvest valuable resources from various worlds before the solar system detonates. Upon landing, you quickly realize this assignment is tougher than anticipated. Daylight hours are spent frantically collecting supplies, constructing facilities, and maintaining your base. However, darkness brings conflict, as marauding feral robots arrive looking for a fight rather than a sewing circle. Fortunately, you don't have to handle the chores alone. These planets are inhabited by fleshy, dim-witted, and unappealing humans. You discover they are quite compliant when given orders, even if those orders involve hauling resources back and forth. By combining DNA from different species, you can engineer humans with unique abilities, such as laser vision. With a few modifications and hacks, they might actually become helpful. Features include the ability to fuse alien and human DNA to create hybrids with special powers, like extra arms or laser eyes. You can build offensive and defensive structures, utilizing 15 unique buildings to hold back hordes of wild robots using lasers, missiles, and attack drones. Enhance your base with nine different types of buildable technology to manage the battlefield and heal yourself or build drones. You can also motivate your meatbags using alien biotechnology implants when they get bored or tired. You will face robotic enemies from unknown origins, including eight unique types ranging from creepy crawlies to explosive dashers, and three boss robots, one of which possesses a giant brain. The game offers multiple planets and environments to explore, four alien species to interact with, and one giant trans-dimensional space squid. The Philae Update (February 2015) introduced a revamped DNA system with hundreds of combinations, seven new genes, and equipment like jetpacks, hoverboards, and rocket launchers. You can now place humans inside towers to boost building power. The update added an overclocking ability for slow-motion viewing, a new jumping boss, a hidden zombie planet, and over 50 interface and gameplay improvements, along with Mac and Linux support.
