About This Game
Hexen II is a dark fantasy first-person shooter and RPG released in 1997 by id Software and developed by Raven Software. It stands as the third entry in the Heretic/Hexen series and serves as the dramatic conclusion to the Serpent Riders trilogy. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse—Death, Pestilence, Famine, and War—lurk in the shadows before you. While they are the foundation of all wickedness, they are merely a minor threat compared to the last of the three Serpent Riders, Eidolon. You must choose to play as the spellcasting Necromancer, the stealthy Assassin, the defensive Crusader, or the offensive Paladin. Your goal is to vanquish the dark generals and their Hell-spawned armies before confronting the archfiend Eidolon to halt his ravenous devastation. Features include selecting from four distinct classes: Paladin, Crusader, Assassin, and Necromancer; utilizing the Quake Engine's authentic polygon-based modeling for the most realistic and detailed environments of 1997; wielding unique spells, powers, and 32 new weapons; gaining experience and levels to increase hit points and unlock abilities like enhanced speed, firepower, and jumping distance; battling through four unique demon-infested worlds themed around Medieval Europe, Ancient Egypt, Mesoamerica, and Greco-Rome; facing enemies such as Knight Archers, Fire Imps, Were-Jaguars, and Skull Wizards; and engaging in cooperative play or bloody deathmatch modes supporting up to 16 players via LAN and online.
