About This Game

You have invaded a gritty dystopian world ripped from the 1980s, becoming the monster the authorities feared. Dragging your bloody tentacles along the slick pavement, you continuously hijack new bodies. You are the HyperParasite, a malicious alien with a vendetta against humanity simply for the thrill of it. Infesting the most corrupt corners of the most aggressive decade, you must battle your way to the top of the pop-culture food chain to press the Big Red Button and trigger the final mushroom cloud. Be the toughest adversary as you navigate the dangerous, procedurally generated streets of a hopeless past in this challenging twin-stick roguelite brawler. Look at all those succulent meat-sacks going to waste on those disgusting humans! As the HyperParasite, you can utilize them better, snatching hosts with your tentacles and absorbing their unique abilities. Once a host dies, you can discard their skin, but continue snatching, because a single hit as the parasite results in permadeath. That is, unless you have found some useful upgrades, so keep your eyes peeled... or your feelers raised... or whatever a parasite does. Satisfy the parasite with over 60 different characters as you collect and control hosts, each offering a unique attack and take-down style. Hunt down the host class boss, rip out their brain (they weren't using it anyway), and bring it back to Wito, our perpetually greedy shopkeeper. Using some strange machinery to store the brain, you can then unlock the character with your hard-stolen cash. There is even a storage unit for your previously collected hosts to return to in later games. Since the game is procedurally generated, no one knows what is waiting around the next dark corner. Can you survive the 5 Acts of this grim, synthwave-infused world? Perhaps, if you remember that the shadows are essential, containing secrets within secrets to explore within the roguelite map system. Also, keep a tentacle out for the bosses, as they pack a serious punch! Pump up the volume with original beats provided by Van Reeves and Joe Kataldo, delivering a pounding score with a pulsating synthwave bassline that accentuates every snatch and kill. Trouble enjoys company, so you can bring a friend to cause twice the mayhem in the two-player local co-op mode.
