Players have the ability to explore and dominate the galaxy using starships they designed and built themselves. Although space is immense, you need not traverse it solo; other players can become part of your crew to assist, or they can construct opposing fleets to battle you across the stars. Get ready to turn these custom-made spaceships into your residence while discovering the galaxy! Utilize the ship editor to craft a vessel that suits your preferences, ranging from tiny scout ships to massive freighters or even titanic battleships. The editor allows you to assemble your ship layer by layer, both internally and externally. If you prefer to depart right away, you can browse the workshop for vessels created by other users or upload your own designs. The galaxy poses threats even when playing alone. Mysterious rifts have unleashed a hostile alien species known as the Skrill. If ignored, they will seize solar systems and devastate your ventures. You can combat them solo or enlist friends to operate a ship jointly. However, not all pilots fight for justice; pirates and enemy fleets may target you and your goods at any moment. Engage them in ship-to-ship combat, or breach their vessels to fight in close-quarters shootouts. The economy within Interstellar Rift relies on resources found throughout the galaxy. Massive asteroid fields orbit planets and solar systems, rich with valuable ores. Activate your resource extractors or deploy mining drones to handle the labor. Shop at LogiCorp and Galactic Trade, or negotiate with marooned pilots while delivering fuel. Automate manufacturing with the ACTR and establish your own shop to trade with other players or nearby trade drones. After selecting a faction to align with, the galaxy becomes yours to explore. Use rift generators to create spatial rifts for travel to new systems; exploring aids in mapping the galaxy and locating systems with specific resources. Build new trade posts for companies and factions seeking to grow their influence, assisting them in establishing secure stations and sectors. Accept assignments from U-nits or find lucrative bargains across various systems to generate profit.
