The Story:

Long ago, a Universal Empire linked various worlds via Solar Disc portals. That empire fell, and the civilizations within took divergent paths; some stayed connected, while others drifted apart. After eons of separation, many worlds would no longer identify one another. Lore speaks of two opposing forces—one dark, one light—seeking to reclaim the ancient empire and its crowns, though little is known of their validity. Others strive simply to comprehend the past and the true essence of each world. Meanwhile, life continues on its separate courses. Lately, unsettling events have unfolded. Reports indicate turmoil: peaceful villages warring, strange beasts appearing in once-serene valleys. The cause remains a mystery. The portal network is now largely derelict and hazardous to use. The Great Wall of Heliopolis was erected long ago for safety, as many portal travelers have vanished without a trace. Consequently, one can never be sure of the reception or success upon arriving at a new destination.
