About This Game
Volume 2: "U7 - Berlin" continues the acclaimed "World of Subways" series by featuring a renowned subway line for simulation fans. Following the first volume, this edition simulates Berlin's U7 route, stretching from Spandau to Rudow as the city's longest subway line. Covering 31.8 km and 40 stations, this line is entirely underground and runs through five districts, passing under rivers like the Spree and Havel. Key features include animated station monitors, realistic scheduling, intelligent announcements, and passenger volume that varies by time of day. The simulation models wear and tear based on driving style and includes a comprehensive scoring system. Players can customize lighting, destination displays, and door controls, which can be operated independently on each side. The physics engine simulates train vibration and sway, especially noticeable during acceleration and hard braking. The game supports free movement within trains, on platforms, in tunnels, and on tracks, with some missions requiring walking to the train or switching cabs. The rolling stock includes the F90, a classic wide-gauge train from the early 90s, and the modern H 01, a 6-car set built between 2000 and 2002. Route highlights feature sharp turns, double-deck tunnel sections, and distinctive station architectures such as the cathedral-like Hermannplatz and the fortress-inspired Zitadelle.
